Driver Charged After Long Island Crash That Seriously Injures Passenger

A driver was arrested on outstanding warrants following a car crash in East Farmingdale that seriously injured a passenger, according to police.

On Monday, July 22 at around 10:15 p.m. Fritz Andral was driving a 2008 Honda sedan southbound on Baiting Place Road when the car reportedly left the roadway and crashed into a tree at approximately 10:15 p.m, according to Suffolk County Police.

A male passenger in the front seat, Jean Dorcine, 22, of Farmingdale, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Andral was transported to the same hospital, treated for minor injuries, and released, according to police.

A female passenger in the backseat was not injured, said police.

The Honda was impounded for a safety check.

Andral, 25, of Farmingdale was arrested for outstanding warrants unrelated to the crash, said police.

He was held overnight and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, July 23.

The investigation is continuing.

All calls will be kept confidential, according to Nassau County Police.
